Old Boy Of The Beach by Phil-Norton Old Boy Of The Beach by Phil-Norton
Another shot from the weekend giving my wideangle a day out.

This old boy is still used by fishermen to launch boats, although it looks old and battered. It was this that appealed to me....it has such personality and even has a weathered, tired face.

This was going to be colour, but I thought the mono tones expressed the personality more.

Found it...!
goes well with the music in the background....
you did a fab job on your site...
this image is sad...
sort of like the loss of old ways...bend over --crippled by a new era...almost being set out to sea--like a sailors funeral...............

your comment seem to capture in words exactly what I wanted to capture in images. Thanks for the comment on my site, it makes all the hard work, even down to the careful selection of music, all worthwhile!

been getting into this word: anthropomorphism .
and seems you do that with your work.
its good to be through in ones visions.
too bad dA doesn't allow musical feeds along with ones gallery.
music and visuals go hand in hand...

This is a tractor !!
Even if this one looks old, there are many, many in use here in Uruguay, and some are this old or more :D.
The difference is, they are used in the fields, to harvest !

To pull boats out of the water, most fishermen at Valizas and along the coast use a rope with a wheel and a lever that allows to roll the rope up. More than one man is needed, though... the strenght needed is big !

It's funny how machinery can have so much personality, you've captured it really well! (Poor thing I bet he gets very cold and wet :( )
